My family wasn't comfortable with us getting my nans ashes put into jewelry so we had her funeral flowers preserved into paper weights and they are beautiful

I’ve already told my mother she is being made into a piece of jewellery when she’s gone.

I'm going against the grain here but the thought of it makes me feel sick.

I think this gets filed under 'different strokes for different folks'. I am with you...totally goes against my grain.

But - everyone grieves and wants to remember their loved ones differently...so to each their own.

I think it’s entirely personal. Having lost my beautiful Dad so unexpectedly at the end of January, it’s not for me... at the moment as it is still too raw. However who knows what I will feel in the future... one day at a time x

I'm totally in agreements with cremation jewellery...

This is my bead I had made with my mums ashes.. we lost her 4 days before Xmas.

I wanted to have her ashes at home, but the hubby felt uneasy about that, so we came to a compromise.

I love it x

I definitly recommend Ashesintoglass.co.uk

When my Mum died, my best friend had a Pandora type charm made for me with some of the ashes. I absolutely love it, it looks really tasteful.
Each to their own however.

Another recommedation for Ashes into Glass. I had a lovely charm made from my mum's ashes. I know it's a personal choice but I like that I can take her everywhere with me. It is her anniversary today. It has been 2 years and it has been the worst time ever xx

NO, I hate the idea ! I’m squeamish about ashes though and I couldn’t even collect Mum & Dad’s from the undertakers. Olga my DSis had to get them and they are safely in her garden somewhere but I don’t want to know where. Sorry if this offends anyone. I don’t know why I feel like this because I managed all the stuff we have to deal with after a bereavement quite well.

Hope you are ok today Scoop. Anniversaries are just the worst time. It's lovely that you get some comfort from your charm.

I am really undecided about whether I like them or not. Your post saying that you can keep your mum with you is making me wonder if it would be good for my niece though. My sister passed away almost 9 years ago and her ashes are still in a box in my niece's wardrobe. I know the decision has to be hers but it does cause me a fair bit of distress knowing she is still there. I may bring the subject up with her and see what she thinks.
