The article linked in the first post says:
"On its final flight on Sunday, the plane flew to Edinburgh and back so it seems that someone at WDL mistakenly repeated the same flight plan for the next day, according to BA".

Surely it should have shown up on radars and flagged that it shouldn't be there, also other places should have picked up we should have a plane in our airspace but we haven't.

my thoughts exactly as surely a plane heading north unexpectedly would arose suspicion but looks like everyone bar the passengers thought it was going to edinburgh? as they landed ok...
still wonder if any passengers noticed as surely looking out of the window would see not crossing the channel and heading up the east coast or west coast then cross over to the east... the forth bridges giving the game away... |
