Tickets Disney California Qs!
Hi can someone give me a run down on how Disney California tickets work.
We are planning on doing 2 days. Who to buy from plus what is, when and how to get a max pass. Plus is the WiFi now up and running? Tia. Victoria |

You can buy DISneyland tickets from Disney, Attraction Tickets Direct and others. For one to five days, to be used over 14 days. It costs extra for park hopping, which is recommended as it is so easy as the two parks are next to each other.
Max pass is the digital version of fast pass operated through the Disney app. If you buy tickets from Disney you can add it on as you purchase ( same as hoppers). If you buy elsewhere you have to scan your tickets in and then buy max pass. It allows you to book fast passes without visiting the attraction. Currently costs $10 per person per day. Rumours that it might go up. Generally regarded as worthwhile if you want to maximise your rides. Just a quick summary, I haven’t been yet, planning for next year!

Oh and Wi-fi is supposed to be patchy still, we will be investing in data for our phones/ looking at other options.

We went for 2 days last November and bought hopper tickets but didn't hop so a bit of a waste for us. We went to DL on a Sunday and managed to do everything we wanted by the time the park shut at midnight.
We then visited DCA on the Tuesday and again managed to do everything there. Both parks shut at 9p.m. that day. We were lucky as both Fantasmic and fireworks were on in DL on the Sunday, they tend to be weekends only in low season and World of Color in DCA was on everyday. We didn't get the max pass and just used the paper FPs, this did involve a bit of tooing and froing between rides but wasn't that bad. 2 days is doable but we felt 3 would have been better, a bit more relaxed |

There are sometimes some discounts on Disneyland tickets - have a look at mouse savers which keeps tabs on various ticket offers. I think there might currently be an offer from Undercover Tourist (at least I seem to remember getting an email recently about it) for Disneyland tickets.
I'm going in a couple of months and planning to get Max pass, it sounds like a much easier way of getting FPs! Not heard great things about the wifi at DL (especially compared to WDW), so will be there with my own data plan, either roaming from home or with a Tmobile SIM card or similar. (There are some sellers on Amazon.com selling US Tmobile SIM cards - considering getting one of these in advance so I'll be good to go once I get there - otherwise will just pop into a Tmobile store when I get there.)

My husband is on EE and it works great in the USA. ( but would like the WiFi for me and my daughter)
We are trying California Easter 2019. So wanted all the info in using the tickets and getting the best options for our 3 days in Disneyland. |

So can someone confirm...
I’ve just checked the tickets with Disney and I can add max pass... So can you only do your fast passes on the day you arrive in the park once you have gone through the gate? Or can you pre book before entering? |

That's correct. You can't use Maxpass until after you are inside the park.
