Mobile Planning for June 2020!

Hi All, looking for some help and advice. We visited Florida in 2008 with our then 10 year old son on our familymoon and are looking to return in May/June 2020 with our 10 year old daughter before she starts secondary. We did a villa last time but want to experience Disney hotel this time but also want to spend a few days at Universal. How easy is it to get to universal from Disney? Any top tips on how to do it? Tickets, travel, hotel? We want to make good use of the free Disney dining plans on offer. Thank you.

Welcome.

Having visited previously (2006, 2008, 2012 & 2016) we are also planning on visiting June 2020 - for our 25th wedding with our 2 daughters who will be 22 and 19 then.

We did Villas for out first 3 visits but stayed onsite in 2016. It certainly costs more but in my opinion is worth the extra.

For 2016 we did 10 nights at Saratoga Springs (with the dining plan) followed by 6 nights in Hard Rock Hotel club level. We plan to do a similar thing in June '20.

A few points/bits of advice:
As I have lots of Avios (and 2 flights for 1 vouchers) we always book our flights ourselves through BA.
The club rooms at Hard Rock may cost a touch more but we found then well worth it due to breakfast as well as early evening drinks and snacks.
Staying at Hard Rock gives you the fast track wrist band for both US and IOA - a fantastic perk.
The Hard Rock location is also excellent - both parks are a short and pleasant walk.
From Hard Rock there are free buses to Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens.
Have rest days or half days by the pool at Disney and Hard Rock.
From what I have seen 2020 will cost me a hell of a lot more than 2016 did!
Obviously plan your dining reservations around your fast pass bookings.
We bought our Disney tickets from Disney direct (along with the hotel booking).
We booked the Hard Rock room through Hotels.com (but shop around) and the non Disney tickets through Attraction Tickets Direct.
We just got a taxi from Disney to Hard Rock and an Uber from Hard Rock back to the airport.
Enjoy the planning and the trip - I am sure you will!
