Matrix ITA.

I’ve heard Matrix ITA mentioned on here, so I’m giving that a look, but I don’t know how accurate it is.

I couldn’t get anything decent for Florida so I put in LAX as that’s where we went last time.

It’s showing as £379 return for 23 nights with Norwegian late July departing.

ITA Matrix don’t provide a link to book flights. When I went on Norwegian site their fares for this on the same flights are probably double so I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or whether it’s inaccurate.

I’m posted this in case it may be something that someone can use. It mentions giving reference numbers to a travel agent.

I have found this before as well. I think it finds all fares and some of them are not available for the public to book.

Thanks Bev. I’m finding this too for other flights to Florida airports, where the site has nothing like the Matrix ITA ‘price.’

I’ll persevere just in case one of them pans out.

I understand that you can give the details to a TA who should be able to book them on their systems. Then need to use the exact booking codes.

I think google flights use the ITA Matrix and it will give you a link on where to book the flights.

The ITA Matrix software was developed by MIT engineers.

ITA was then purchased by Google, and used to power Google Flights (as well as other non-google flight search engines).

If you want to book flights that show on the ITA Matrix then you need copy or print the details for a TA to input if no option to self-serve is shown.

Thanks for this.

If I select only show flights with seats available the cheap ones disappear. Do you think that they actually exist and that the TAs will be able to access them?

Many thanks.

That's a very good question, not sure of the answer to be honest.

Are you looking for any particular airline or alliance ?

There are some very helpful and knowledgeable people on Flyertalk that'd be able help.
