Looks great... very jealous about the amount of time you have out there.

Think we paid about 1100 each for PE Thomas Cook return MAN-LAX.

Note that this was in school holidays!

Some great places you are staying and beautiful places in between.

That drive from Lone Pine into Yosemite is simply amazing!

Should have added... can highly recommend the following hotels:

Las Vegas - Caesars Palace
Lone Pine - comfort inn
Yosemite - Yosemite lodge at the falls (can’t remember new name... Yosemite valley lodge? )
San Fran - Columbus motor inn was great. parking cost included.
Monterey - Monterey Plaza hotel and spa
LA / Santa Monica - the Georgian
Disneyland - Disneyland hotel

Also may be a small diversion, but when driving Yosemite to San Fran try re-route so you drive in over the Golden Gate Bridge. Great way to start off in San Fran.

I think that the sat nav would likely take you over Oakland bridge. People may correct me on this.

We went via Napa Valley which meant first drive over the GG bridge!

Hi something similar to what we did 2 years ago, we found flying in and out of LA much cheaper. Only other comment would be to spend an extra day or two in Monterey/Carmel area ( would take a couple of days of Disney, 2/3 days is plenty there as it is relatively small )and go whale watching from there an absolute highlight for us. If it's adults only trip have a look at the blue butterfly bb at El portal or yosemite view lodge.

Thanks for the reply.
This is for next years summer holidays also
July 20- 11 August. 2 adults 2 children.
I've already taken some of your previous hotel suggestions on board and booked the Columbus harbour inn and Monterey plaza hotels.
Have also booked the Disneyland hotel for my 5 Disney nights.
I've found flights for about £700 each economy but not sure if I will be able to find better.

Whale watching is deffo on the list
Was trying to fit another day onto Monterey bay but it's hard trying to fit everything you want to do in and still knowing your only scratching the service.

Hi if you could drop a Disney night or LA night I think it would help the balance of your trip. Monterey, aquarium fantastic , 17 mile drive , whale watching , Carmel , pebble beach , would be good to give it a little more time. Our flights out of dublin£500 Ethiopian airways , very good flights on new aircraft . Have a look at dublin for other carriers with the added bonus of clearing customs here.

Thanks for the suggestion but with 2 kids and hopefully the opening of Star Wars land I think 4 days spent in the Disney parks will be a must for us. I will have a look at flights from Dublin now.

Great choices...

The restaurant in Monterey Plaza is beautiful and was one of our best meals on the trip! If you like seafood then the Cioppino is a must!

Columbus motor inn is about a 5-10 min stroll from Fishermans Wharf!

Disneyland hotel was amazing! Really loved this hotel! One of the things I looked at but didn't get round to it was dropping the car back off whilst there and getting a taxi to the airport! I think the parking charges were quite high for the car just to sit there and do nothing! Anyhow, we didn't and in fact needed up paying the valet parking charge!
