Why can't l search forum?

Hi. For some reason l can't seem to do a search in the forums, as soon as l start typing a subject the box just disappears. It's driving me to distraction. Anyone having the same issue know how l can fix it? Thank you

Hello,

This happens to me all the time on my ipad, all I do is click on the Advanced Search instead and you can search that way.

I just assume it because im on a mobile device?
