I'm an ex smoker and now occasional vaper. I thought the few smoking areas around the parks were sufficient and most were well out of the way.

Smokers will find a way to have a crafty smoke - it's a bad habit that is very compelling!. So rather than having to police just the smoking areas, CM's will find themselves unfortunately having to deal with more rule breakers. I'm not condoning it, just being realistic.

I’ll go so far as to say that anyone who argues that a smoke free environment for what is essentially a family venue is bad, is being extremely selfish.
So is alcohol , and that's not restricted to tucked away areas but is everywhere in the parks . So is screaming at your kids or dragging over tired kids around , letting them get sunburned or dehydrated , bad language, parents squaring up to each other in queues ... Disney you can see pretty much every aspect of dysfunctional , non family behaviour and none have their own special areas to do it discreetly and without impacting on others. It's all pretty hypocritical !
No one said "it's bad" what they did say is it will cause more problems than it solves with smokers clustered by enterences and longer security lines and something that currently doesn't impact non smokers will now impact them more. I'd prefer not to have to walk through clouds of second hand smoke and those awful vaping scents every time I enter or exit a park.

I’d bet the new areas won’t be near the entrances at all. They’ll still be pretty much hidden. I’m fully confident non smokers will be better off with this development.

Terrible idea.
I don’t smoke anymore but I don’t think this is the answer.
Couldn’t they have just cut back on smoking areas instead of getting rid of them altogether?
Short sighted in my opinion

I do smoke - I am always considerate and go to the designated areas which are normally well out the way. I will not light up in some idiot decides to bring the children into the smoking area whilst they have a cigarette themselves.

I only bought tickets 2 days ago and travel June 2019 - if I had known about this then I would have stuck to universal only.

I suspect if you wanted a full refund you'd get it.

I see you corrected your typo but "decimated" made me smile as it worked too

Do you think theyd refund? I did already look and the tickets t&cs state not refunds or transfers - but it’s them that have changed the policy I guess.

I did chuckle to myself too, decimated is probably more appropriate now though

We may visit once it's banned - but I can't see it happening anytime soon. The europeans appear to smoke rather than breathe...

Is it worth trying to have a sneaky cigarette when surely anyone caught smoking will be escorted from the park?

Disney WILL enforce this- From our last few trips we reported people smoking outside our hotel door - the smell was horrific. Security quickly arrived and stopped them...

For all the smokers complaining - simple suggestion for you - if you want to enjoy disneyworld is to give up... Your 'habbit' is dangerous and disgusting and you have no right to poison others.

I am looking forward to my trip even more now!
