I think that some people use them and some people dont!
Personally we always avoid EMH, as find it just makes the parks soooooo much busier and makes for very very long days too - we find it much better to get to the parks for rope drop on a non-emh day and then you can get a lot done in the first couple of hours, we used the evening emh at Epcot in May this year, and it was so busy - wait times for Soarin were still at the 2-hour mark, compared to a walk on if you go straight there as soon as the rope drops on normal days. Been going 20 years next year and find it always works for us xx

Same here - I never do EMH hours, apart from Epcot's evening EMH if I'm staying at an Epcot resort, purely for wandering around Worldshowcase and the park in general before walking back to my resort.
