The first year I went i saw all the publicity for HHN, they'd just introduced Jack and clowns scare me to my very core after watching Stephen King's It when i was just 10! I was only 14 at the time but tried to convince my parents we should go. My dad's a big fraidy cat though and we never made it. The next time we were on a budget and couldn't afford to go and the last visit we got there 5 days too late.
But we're going this year and I'm really excited. I've loved horror films since I was a tiddler and am one of the few who enjoyed Skull Kingdom when it was still around.
I have lots of questions:
What/where is the holding area?
If you are in the park but do not have tickets how do they get everyone out?
Is it better to do Universal Studios that day too or will it be packed?
What sort of time are we looking at? Start? finish?
Should I wait and eat there or stick to my original plan to eat out at City Walk about 6?
Sorry loads I know, I'm just SO excited!

They section off an area of the park and allow you to wait there

They bring in loads of security at park closing time and start ushering people out unless they are going to the holding area

We did the park that day so we could stay in the holding area. They open up the houses early and we managed to do 4 before the official opening time - the queues then were horrendous. We didn't think the park was particulary busy throughout the day

I can't remember - I think it might have been about a 6:30pm start and we left once we had done all the houses - think it was after 11pm

We ate there - if you eat out at Citywalk at 6pm you will miss out on the chance of the early entry

I thought Doody was busy writing his memoirs to start a HHN thread!

Anyhoo, I'm glad you did.

This year is already planned and as we speak is being signed-off by the corporate directors and legal, so in a few weeks the leaks should start flowing through...

is it likely to be spectacular? or is the 21st anniversary not really noteworthy over there?

For 2011 - I am hoping for to do something a little different -

Halloween Horror Nights HOLLYWOOD
Knotts Scary Farm - Los Angeles

I think I need a break from the Orlando one and try some of the myriad of other Halloween Themes parks in the states.

I can't wait to try HNN this year!
Last time we'd never heard of it and went MNSSHP instead.

I have a few questions though...
1) When do the tickets usually go on sale?
2) How much do they usually cost and where do you buy them?
3) Are children allowed or is it adults only?

I can't wait to hear what the theme will be, in 2008 it was 'Bloody Mary' and there were posters everywhere. It looked like so much fun!

Its jolly worth a visit, you will love it.

Just keep a look out on their website (and on here of course)

best bet is a frequent fear pass for admission over several days of the event last time we bought them they were $69 each.

There are kids there, but it depends on their ages, it can be intense.

Good, good. Didn't want you to end up like Agatha Christie and disappear on us all!
