I would get in the park before 5pm & go to the holding area, then you get to do 2 houses before they open up the park at 6.30pm. First house they open is usually AVP.

Definitely aim to be in the park so you can go to a holding area.
We were there last Thursday and were held at Finnegans and managed to do Walking Dead, AVP and From Dusk til Dawn before giving up about 9pm. Tonight (Wed), we went to Simpson's holding area and were released at 5.40ish. We did Roanoke, Dollhouse, Giggles n Gore, Halloween and finally Dracula - all done in 1 hour without fast passes. We then queued about 20 mins for AVP before joining a '45 min' queue to redo Halloween which turned out to be about an hour and a half. Looking forward to more tomorrow.

Does anyone else think that the scarezones are somewhat lacking this year?

I agree. They had to think of something other than walking dead because people were complaining that they didn't want it 3 years in a row but it would have been much scarier having zombies in the scare zone walking round than the Puge. That wasn't scary whatsoever.
Walking Dead is still huge so they shoudd have kept it at he scare zones if they couldnt come up wiith something better or on par. Houses were great though. |

It would be interesting to see how many 'complaints' they had, as everyone still ran to do TWD house first and always had the biggest line. We did Hollywood this year too and there scarezones were fantastic! Yes, one was the walking dead, but of prefer to have that over walking around with no scarezone at all. Walking from the bayou to the purge was boring because nothing was going on, not even anything on those big screens in the water like previous years

I was not particularly impressed with TWD house but on Sunday it had a 180 minute wait! I enjoyed the scarezones especially Maskerade!
House wise we did Halloween 4 times over our visits and AVP was second best!

We went on 15th of October and I was so disappointed with AVP! 70 minute wait and i felt the scares were few and far between. Roanoke and Dollhouse were both 5 minutes each and much scarier IMO. Huge fan of TWD so I loved the house. We joined the queue as soon as we went into the park so took about 40 minutes.
