Mobile Flight costs - May half term?

We're hoping to be back in florida next May /June. Ideally looking to travel 26th may-9th June which will be half term. My daughter gets two weeks off in may so we want to take advantage of it.

If you don't mind me asking, has anyone recently returned or out there now who wouldn't mind sharing some flight prices with me?

Looking at them now for next year it's around £750 each flight only. I looked in February for same time this year and could get a package with rosen inn pointe for £720ish. Flights were around £550ish.

I was meant to check again nearer the time for comparison but forgot! I'm happy to wait until Feb for a price drop before booking but now thinking it may be worth holding out until really last minute for a cheaper flight price?

Thanks.

We booked with BA as soon as the flights were released last year for travel the May half term just gone. It ended up being about £100 more to get a package (fights and hotel). Total was just over £2k. That's for 2 adults and 2 kids (1 aged 10 the other 14). Gatwick to MCO direct and staying in the Ramada Gateway Hotel (which was OK as a base)

Hope that helps

We're going in May next year so I priced flights for May this year in March. Norwegian were by far the cheapest. Flying Gatwick 24/5 returning 5/6 they were coming out at £1685 return for 2adults and 2 kids with the food and baggage included. It was much cheaper flying on the Thursday rather than the Saturday. We've ended up booking a package with my magic holiday but would have booked with Norwegian otherwise.

Thanks both for your replies.
I'll take a look with BA, not sure if they're on sale yet or if I'll need to wait until 11 months out but I hadn't considered those.

Norwegian is another good shout actually, we would need to fly from Manchester. I know they fly out of there but not sure if they fly to Orlando from man. Thurs-Thurs wouldn't be possible as on husband is a lecturer and that's his last full week in to get all students signed off!

I got £800 PE Virgin Man to MCO direct flights in May half term 2014. Booked the February before it was a last minute (ish) trip.

Thanks everyone.
Had a look at BA and they don't appear to fly from Manchester and I don't want indirect. Norwegian don't go from Manchester either so I'm left with Thomson, virgin or Thomas Cook.

I'll keep my eye on flights and if I can get to £500 each I'll get it booked. I think we'd rather find our own accommodation than a package so should still be able to find something reasonable.

Thanks all.

We usually go end of May to early June. Average flight cost with Virgin direct from Manchester has been £420 ish. Flights release lowish but then go up - they come down in August / Sept and again in Dec so put a skyscanner alert on your perferred dates and book when you see it dip. Recommend staggering your start and end days as can often be cheaper (ie doing 16/17 nights). Good luck
