Yes, I know.

Regrettably, some airlines appear to be taking the view that IF they operate the flight that day, they have fulfilled their contract with you.

It matters not one bit that if/when you get off the aircraft, you are either detained or deported!

Your option then is to claim under your TRAVEL insurance providing the FCO directive of essential travel is still in place.

I wonder if you turned up for your flight, could you 'clear' immigration/customs in Dublin? Would they actually let you through bearing in mind the restrictions? or would you be denied boarding?

If you are denied boarding, then you have entitlements from the AIRLINE under an EU aviation directive.

If the FCO directive of essential travel only remains, then you should be able to claim off your TRAVEL insurance.

It also sounds to me like some airlines are forcing passengers to redirect claims from them to their TRAVEL insurers.

There is also the question of section 75 and/or chargeback if your flight is cancelled and you opt for a refund but its not forthcoming.

There are options out there and some airlines are better than others, so take note for future booked flights!

We are supposed to be flying with AL on 17th Aug, MAN-DUB DUB-ORL the return on the 31st same route.

We have 10 nights POR booked direct with Disney (but of course no DDP now) then 4 nights Universal with ATD.

I am holding out and hoping the FCO have not lifted restrictions by then (I know that might sound negative but I am really not sure I want to go or put my family through that)

But we have just have to wait it out, although as our balance date is creeping ever near it is a bit unfair of Disney to make all their change announcements but not yet contact customers via email with their options)

Frustrating

Totally agree.
If you booked via WDTC. there have been some changes as to your final payment dates.
We were booked at POR from july 18th and our final payment date was 23rd May.BUT

They 'moved' those dates so that you dont need to pay the final figure until a few days before your holiday.
I'll see if i can find the post somewhere and copy it to this thread.

So you may have a bit longer before parting with your money and may know by that time if flights going ahead or not.

good luck.

Sorry just noticed you booked with ATD, so nothing I said in last post applies to you.

What a pity as Disney were being 'fluid' and allowing people to settle up as late as 3 to 8 days before their booking date!
