the caddy thing requires no technical knowledge, just access to a phillips screwdriver.

unpack the caddy and SSD, slide the internal SSD drive into the caddy, tighten any screws there may be to close the case. plug into your mac, go to disk utility (in apps/utilities), select the new drive and format. then just use it as you would any other drive.

no caddy needed, thats a fully functional usb HDD. just plug and play (after formatting in disk utility)

the caddy is only needed if you want to get an INTERNAL 2.5" HDD/SSD and plug it in as an external drive via USB
