Wedding Planner

Well after reading through some of your trip reports i realised that disney is the place for us to get married. We have been together 6 years and hav 3 young kids ages 3,1 and 1 month.
So we discussed going to disney in 2019 and taking the kids for their first holiday there which gives us plenty of saving time as well as them being a bit older so they all enjoy it more. I started visiting the threads and stumbled across the wedding one and well you all got me excited with your stories. Anyway here are my questions.

1. How far in advance did you start planning?

2. Did any of you use a wedding planner/organising book if so do you have any recommendations on one to use?

Thanks in advance

We did this and began planning two years in advance.

We used a wedding planner, Kristy Rapp - Kristy Rapp events.com

I think she charged us $500 back in 2010, but the money she saved us from her contacts was probably 3-4 times that .

We got married at Cypress Grove and had the reception at the Buena Vista Palace beside Disney Springs. Because this is a Disney Partners hotel we were able to have Mickey and Minnie at the ceremony (fun, but not cheap... £950.)

We had Misty Miotto as our photographer, if you go to her webpage and flick through the pics on the homepage, my wife is still on their in the image with the lion pictures

Anna Cakes did our amazing wedding cake

Certainly drop Kristy an email. She made the whole thing so simple, considering we were half way across the world.

Little things, like getting us to buy the champagne for our toast from Walmart and then ensuring it was set up after the ceremony, saving $$$$$

We were the Steele / Brown wedding from Ireland on March 31st 2011

Are you thinking of a Disney wedding or an Orlando wedding?

Disney may insist on preferred vendors so it might be best to ask them to see if this is the case. Congratulations

Yeah we plan on staying onsite so I've had a look at the Disney weddings page. All looks easy you can pick you cake and everything by the looks of it. I also got an estimated price which give me a rough idea of what I need to save 😃

You book direct with Disney then and they provide the wedding planner.

They have recommended vendors but you are free to choose your own. Some locations (mainly in park) you have to use Disney themselves though.
