I totally appreciate that and have a few friends that had their kids at 15/16 and were grandparents in their 30's but was just really commenting that the average age is still well above that in the UK.

One of my aunties became a great grandmother at the age of 57. Not exactly the youngest great grandmother, but certainly young enough. She was working as a prison officer up until a couple of years ago.

I made my Mom’s Mom a Nan at 36. I think my cousin made her a Great Nan at 56.
My Mom became a Nan at 42 when my eldest was born.
She’s now early 60s and still working as a bus driver - certainly not crocheting in a rocker 😆

The stereotype non hugable granny in a rocking chair is just that a stereotype.

Gosh! I’m not ready for my rocking chair just yet... well, except the ones outside Cracker Barrel.🤣 I have my 5 year old granddaughter full time as she lives with me. 🥰

I’m 46 with a 2 yr old granddaughter, she lives with us ( with her mum ) , so I spend practically all my time with her
.

When she was born I was pretty much her full time carer as my daughter was poorly for a good 2 months ..

I’m far from past it 😂

My own mum is 74 and fitter than many 20 years younger , she’s more than capable of looking after the toddler all day , and this is a child that rarely sits still .

My mum would be totally offended if someone said she was old and past it 😂
