I just started a few weeks ago. Did week 3 day 1 today 😀
I’m unfit, overweight and haven’t exercised for a few years. I joined the local gym recently to try to tackle these and thought I’d give c25k a go. I’m actually enjoying it, though I never thought I’d say that! But I am finding it hard. It just seems to take me to the limit each time so I feel it’s set at the right level. Any harder and I’d have given up I think. It’s great to hear others stories to help motivate. I’m aiming for the Castaway 5K in August, really hoping I can do it. Good luck op. |

Absolutely!
First photo was around 3 weeks into the 9 week c25k programme Last photo was 8 stone down and running mile 25 of 26.2 at the Manchester Marathon Not only did I finish it in a great time (wanted sub 5 and did it in 4:44) I loved every mile! It took me 18 months to go from couch to marathon Good luck!

That was my motivation we’re on Castaway Cay at the beginning of August and I’m running that 5k. Stick with it and you’ll complete the program and your 5k

Definitely!
Two years for me now. I'm currently doing a RED for charity (Run every day) I'm actually doing 4 charity events this month-all exercise based. If you had told me I'd be doing this 2 years ago, I would have said you're nuts! I'm not fast. I call myself a plodder, but I'm out there doing it 😊🏃💪 Yes the trainers cost. (And I like pretty running gear! ) but the roads are free I've had 2 injuries that stopped me for a month each time, but I got back out there and repeated C25K. |

I did the C25K 7yrs ago and I recommend it to all my friends. I was always a non runner and didn’t think I could run, but with the plan it showed me that I could. I did repeat weeks or do extra days the following week if I struggled or wanted extra practise before I moved on to the next week. I also printed out a chart and coloured in the days/sessions once I’d completed them. Once I realised I could run I trained for various events and have done a couple of half marathons, The London Marathon and few events in between. I now run once or twice a week with a social running club and do Bootcamp twice a week.
I have dipped back into the plan if I have had some time off running and I’ve been out with my kids doing it too, but unfortunately I haven’t managed to convert them totally. Give it a go, the satisfaction of completing it is amazing.

Nobody hates running more than me! But myself and my hubby decided to give it a go 2 years ago. When I say that I was out of breath running for 1 minute I’m not exaggerating, however by the end of it I was literally doing 5k. I lost weight and felt healthier. Only problem is we didn’t keep it up. I find I need to do it with someone to spur me on. If I’m on my own I get bored very quickly. I tried it again last year but only managed about 2 weeks 😕 but yes 100% it works.

Did our first run today. Went much better than I expected! Will see if my legs are sore tomorrow though. Hopefully I can keep it up!
