We are here now and believe the hype about the lion King wait times. You need to queue up for at least an hour to stand any chance of getting in.

The fireworks don't start until 11pm so again you need to get in a preferable spot at least 40 mins beforehand. I thought I had a perfect spot last night until all the small kids were suddenly hoisted onto dad's shoulders at 10.59. Looking around there wasn't really anywhere that wasn't affected by this. This also led to people then holding their phones at arms length above their heads. I saw lots of discruntled parents whose kids were too big to go on shoulders anymore who simply could not see.

We came home Tuesday night. The rain last weekend kept the crowds reasonable, but Tuesday was very busy and we were told by a CM at the gate that they were busy enough to be monitoring for capacity numbers. City Hall around 1pm was a queue of angry stressed out people wanting to complain because lines were long. I think some of them expected no one else to be on holiday!

Just remember there is so much more to experience than rides! Shows, parades, walk through a like Aladdin and the treehouse, and a break around Adventure Isle.

The Jungle Jive show is brilliant. If you happen to be early, the stage closest to the castle on the right (as you look at the castle) is the best view, but there’s so much to see that if you watch from the pavement around the hub, you’ll see all new stuff.

The new Lion King show is amazing and the queue is madness. We actually did the Lion Kong signature package, which was fab, but if you can plan ahead and bring things to do while camped out in the queue, it is definitely worth the wait. (The signature package was fab for us because we only had two people in our group and we both have annual passes. With a big party, the price would stack up fast.)

Be there early. Be there early. Be there early. The security line at 9 and 10 are a world of difference.

Some of the character windows are short and the queue is capped basically at the beginning of the set. We joined the queue for Peter and Wendy’s 12:15 set at 11:30 and we were the fifth family in line. Download Lineberty app for character meets in studios. Set an alarm for 9:44 and refresh refresh until the spots come up, because they are usually gone by 9:46. But then you queue on your phone and when they text you, head over and only wait a few minutes. You don’t need to hover nearby- we have been at the back of Adventureland when we got the text and walked over to studios at a speed you can go with a five year old and made it with no problem. They understand you might have been on a ride when you got the text, etc.

Stay positive and flexible and you’ll be ahead of the game! If you end up with a day that is so super busy that everyone is grumpy, the cast members have heard every grumpy complain you can imagine. A smile their way goes a long way to keep the magic going!

Standard behaviour I'm afraid, just like at WDW. One of my biggest gripes.

Monday and Tuesday have been the quietist days - it’s just got busier and hotter as the week has gone on.
