One concerning thing was the gates - they were manned into the complex most of the time during the day (or use the telecom to reception), but at night times the gates were left open and the office was empty.
Sorry to hear your rental wasn't so great. The Condo I have rented is privately owned and the owner has good reviews so fingers crossed all will be well. Who did you rent via and do you remember the owners details?

We stayed there 2 years ago booked through BA package holiday. Apartment was really spacious, great to have washer/dryer. We had a larger 2 bed ground floor so there was reasonable space for a table and chairs on the terrace.
The complex is lovely, a really nice Caribbean feel, so relaxing after being at the parks. Restaurant on site reasonably priced with lovely cocktails if you feel like chilling and not going out to eat.
Reception have free tea and coffee you can take to the pool.
I would definitely go back. You will have a great time 😀

We rented through Virgin, so I guess through Contempo? We have been totally spoiled by the outstanding villas in the past, but wanted to be closer to Disney this time.
We were in building 27, on the ground floor, and whilst the problems were significant, we didn’t spend much time in there and left an evaluation at the end of the stay.

We got back last Tuesday after our 12th stay there. We’ve stayed in quite a few different condos, all rented directly from the owner. Whilst some of them had shown signs of wear and tear, others have been really nice but all of them have been clean and that’s a major thing for me.

We didn’t really use any of the facilities this time as we were out so much so couldn’t comment on how the public areas are apart from the pool by the lake and that was as good a usual.

Just back and loved it! We booked a package through virgin and I spent many sleepless nights worrying after reading too many bad tripadviser reviews, but my prayers were answered when we arrived to the most gorgeous appt ever! It must have been privately owned and recently refurbished lots of lovely little touches. We were in block 13 which was close to the ‘beach pool’ as the girls called it and spent a lot of time there. Only downside was that we were in the middle floor and the residents above were like a herd of elephants at night and one evening dh had to go up and speak to them as the thumping on the floor was horrendous and this was after midnight!

We stayed there in '16 and friends of ours in '18 and we loved it. 3 great pools, a splash area and the condos were great. As for the distance from Disney, it is closer than you think... Westside Blvd -> US-192 -> World Drive. 20 mins.

You'll have a blast!
