Volcano bay is better in our opinion cleaner brighter changing rooms and good rides. The Tapu tapu system works well as there’s small waits when you get to the ride. The fast flowing lazy river is great and we all enjoyed Krakatoa. Our youngest is 12 though so cannot comment on offerings for younger children.

I’ve heard good things about blizzard beach being good for young kids! Volcano bay seems to be a bit more intense! I’m sure either will be fab. I have only been to BB, it was a great day though

First time at volcano bay this week and would definately say it was better that blizzard beach which we have done a few times before...big rides for the older ones with the tapu tapu system and there looked to be a great kids area although we didn't use it as mine are 12 and 14.

First visit to Volcano Bay last week and I have to say that it left me underwhelmed. It’s quite spread out and the not so lazy river isn’t quite as intense as Aquatica’s. (I know that’s not comparing it with BB) The Tapu ride wait system could be better as you had to walk to an attraction to find out the wait time first. For example we wanted to ride a slide which showed a 55 min wait so tapped on it. This then meant that if we wanted to ride something else we would have to over write it and lose our spot on the ride we were in the virtual queue for and this involved going to the other side of the park, just to find out the slide was down anyway. As much as the theming was good I prefer BB but on a quieter day with smaller queues I think it would have been more enjoyable. That said I don’t think anything can touch the wave pool in Typhoon Lagoon and I think that’s the only place that you can get the Sand Pail ice cream bucket.

Volcano Bay, by far the better water park.
