It both flights are aer lingus would it both the same terminal for arrival and departure at Dublin?

Hi NB, I believe all AL flights fly from Dublin T2, but should your UK to Dublin flight be codeshare, for example flown by Stobart, that apparently arrives/departs T1.

All Aerlingus fly to T2, but as you are flying from Heathrow, then you will need to check your first hop isnt with BA, which goes to T1. Aerlingus indirect from Heathrow could either be a Aerlingus or BA plane, but will clearly be shown in the booking.

I've done the stop over thing at a handful of US airports but Chicago was the best. The immigration was all automated. They had what seemed like hundreds of terminals, many of which were not being used. We were through in minutes. Compare that to the likelyhood of queueing at MCO and it's a no brainer. It makes the start of the holiday much less stressful and well worth the extra travel time. Via Chicago would be my preferred route for next time we go.

Hi Mike - when did you last navigate US immigration? I ask as the experience you describe sounds like the automated passport control (APC) kiosks which were removed a few years ago [unless some airports retained]. It's back to queueing to see an IO using 'simplified arrival', a process using facial biometrics to automate manual document checks required for US admission.
