I've just done a map check and Sanford is 54 miles to our villa and Melbourne 61 so not much difference for us. Nice straight route too.

When they announced the move to Melbourne all they talked about was the cruise setup that was coming in and the new ships they were purchasing.

They don't need to target the disney market as it's a well trodden path

No, they'll be making a push on the fly & cruise market to fly into Melbourne instead of down the coast.

We have always flown into MCO so this will be a first for us as we have never booked a package holiday before.

Hubby worked for an American Company, and used Melbourne a lot for internal flights,he said out of the airport, turn right and follow the signs for WDW,takes about 90 minutes. As its a smaller airport there are less planes landing, but facilities as good as Sanford, and no major city to negotiate on the I4..

It will make no difference to us as we can join the 17/92 very quickly and a lot less traffic lights
Again it’s like every other journey traffic dependant and where you are staying

Wouldn’t bother me, I class any Florida airport as Orlando as that’s where it’s getting me to, I don’t mind the drive😂
