So tempted to book Jamaica with TUI rather than BA as prices are lots cheaper but ideally I'd like to tag on a week or two in FLorida after 15 nights in Jamaica but wondered what would happen if we were 'no shows' for our return TUI flight. Can't book open-jaw with TUI and the package is cheap enough for me to ditch the return leg but not sure if they would charge me? Not sure about the different t's and c's with a package charter flight compared to scheduled ones.

Hey Alicia

TUI have a lot of excursions which I've been flicking through on my phone. Are you thinking of all 4 of you going? Sam and Hope would love the pool and beach life. I've no idea if there is any golf for Jim. Do they golf in Jamaica? I wonder if you'd get itchy feet and be bored with it as I know you like to keep busy on holiday. I'm so tired after the last few months I feel like I could sleep for a week so while I'm not normally a fan of the all inclusive holiday I think the laid back relaxation of pool and beach will be good for me. Our hotel has lots of water activities on offer including canoes and snorkelling etc so you would probably enjoy all that.

I'll let you know how we get on. Hopefully you won't need to use the back up plans though.

A x
Thanks so much Abby! I hope you are on your way now, so jealous!
Yes it would be with Hope and Sam too so all they would want is a pool and sun bed with maybe some water sports thrown in. They love paddle boarding so would into somewhere that offered that, maybe an excursion for the day.

Jim is actually taking a break from golf as he’s given himself golfers elbow so I’m not actually sure if he would play or not so doesn’t need to have courses nearby. He’s driving me insane by being home all weekend so I’m hoping it’s a short term injury 😂

I’m exactly like you, I feel mentally exhausted at the moment so actually a week or 2 of doing very little sounds bliss to me right now!

Have an amazing trip, looking forward to hearing all about it xx

We are here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 woo hoo.

For TUI T & Cs I don't really know how they differ from BA etc. But I made sure we had travel insurance that would refund the holiday if we couldn't go due to a positive test.

On the plane they gave out the old style landing cards and even though we had done our travel authorisation we still had to fill in the card.

Four planes landed at the same time in Jamaica, so it was busy...but we were through and sitting on the coach 1 hour after landing.

First they squirt you with hand sanitiser.
Then there is a temp check.
Next we used the machines to scan passports and gain entry.
Then down to collect the luggage.
Finally customs, green nothing to declare or red.
There were queues and corridors full of people at all points.

So, it's definitely not a good idea to book it if you are concerned about being close to other people. There was not much social distancing going on. Everyone had face masks on though.

Can I just ask Goldia, are you at the Riu Negril or Rui Palce? I'm looking at the Rui Negril. Thanks

We are at Riu Negril photos of the view from my balcony. It's a garden view from (free upgrade on TUI) but I can see the sea
