Completely agree London is the most vibrant city in the U.K., with the best attractions in the U.K. to suggest that this is the best we can manage is insulting particularly from a town where then only time it got in national news last year was when some racist Yobs hired a plane to fly over a football match !

Which town are you referring to there please ?
Certainly not my home town

Megaflyer / Sew , all I was trying to do was create a bit of light hearted north /south banter .
Sorry if I caused offence .

I wasn’t denigrating the whole of London , it’s past or other more recent achievements , just on this occasion , £2m has been blown on something that even if it had matched the plan , would still have been £2m wasted. If it was worth spending money on , surely it would have been worth keeping for more than a few months ?

Another Londoner here..
They could’ve done so much better with the space that was there, I really think this must have been some kind of joke!

I see they have temporarily closed it other than for people who have already bought tickets.

Seemingly at the planning stage 52 people out of 60 who expressed a view on it were against it .

Hopefully it will be better by the time they re-open it but personally I think they would be better off cutting their losses

We saw it on Saturday after walking miles through the lovely Kensington, St James and Hyde parks - we didn't go over to it as we thought it was something that builders had just done to hide a building site or something. It's awful. The teletubbies had a better one.

That is an exact description of what we saw on Saturday. In the middle of that beautiful city it's an eyesore.

You may be confusing Bury with Burnley there

I don’t think BuryBoy intended any offence to London or it’s inhabitants moreover the powers that be that signed this off.

Thank you and correct .
The powers that be sadly were completely arrogant in assuming that because of the success of other viewing platforms in London that they could just build anything tall and the population would flock to see it ( for a few months at least ) . Glad to see the Londoners have voted with their feet and given their opinions on the white elephant that it is

( heh Bury / Burnley easily confused )

Has anyone seen the other stuff they’ve designed? One in particular is downright offensive and I think they do stuff to take the p*** out of the idiots who will pay for it.

God forbid anywhere would ever be confused with Burnley, that’s beyond the pail!

(I’m from Blackburn so I’m allowed to joke about it)
