I would and I don’t think I have 😂 .We’re going to renew and hope they come back in time to book something last minute in Europe at the end of august 🤞 .

The challenge for the validity date is that you need to have three months post return. However as people going to Europe can stay for three months it is 3 months stay plus three months post return. Then when you add on the removal of "added days" - the govt guidance is still not to travel on a passport that is older than 9.5 years or 4.5 years if a child at the point you ENTER Europe

I know that in cases of doubt the passport checker on the .gov website is used by check in staff.

Personally, given that, and you may meet a jobsworth it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Hope you do manage to get away. There are some fabulous package holiday deals around.

There are some great prices at the moment, gutted I can’t book one but hopefully there’ll still be some last minute bargains IF our passports come back in time.
