Mobile Is this a realistic budget for May 2023

We’ve decided to go back in May 2023 with some friends so will be splitting the villa costs between us.

Does the below look ok:

Flights (3A & 1C): £2k
Villa (Our half): £900
Park Tickets: £2k
Car Hire: £600
Spends: £2k

Tickets are for Universal, Discovery Cove Dolphin Swin & Icon 360 (based on FloridaTix prices)

What airport and for how long? Are you happy with indirect flights? Also how many friends are going and how many bedrooms will you need in a villa? Or how many seats in a car?

Flight estimate looks ok if you’re going direct and outside of school holidays.

Spends I would probably budget a little bit more for that many people if you’re going for 2 weeks and may depend on if you want souvenirs. Have a look at some of the restaurants you want to eat at and pick some standard items you’d go for off the menu to do a quick guesstimate.

Manchester direct to MCO

There’s us and another family of 4 but due to kids ages we’re looking at a 5 bed villa

Car hire will be an SUV

You might be pushed to find a decent 5 bed villa for £900 a week in May

I believe that you are optimistic on the flights, but who knows with Air Lingus entering that route and possibly ending Virgin Atl ripping people off from a position of monopoly?

Spends is a personal thing and opinions vary wildly. If you eat breakfast in the Villa and generally avoid park meal lunches, preferring picnics, then you can drive that price down. That is what we do.. and we don’t spend much on tat, either… or even anything.
It also depends on whether you eat out all evenings, some evenings or no evenings (we eat out all evenings).
It depends when you eat out on whether you drink much alcohol. We are all but teetotal whilst out, only having cocktails at happy hour (and wine in the villa.. plenty of wine by the pool once the car is parked up).
Car parking. Never forget car parking. Icon park is cheap in initial, but then heavy in outlay whilst there?
Univeral will be $25 plus per day, likewise Discovery Cove might be better with a D.C. ultimate swim or non swim as it gives you more parks and also, free parking. You do look a little light on parks and that D.C. ultimate non swim (seems cheaper through ticket agencies than at source), gives you AQ, BG and SW for very little extra when you subtract parking costs. You may already be factoring in an ultimate, judging by your £2000 on 4 persons tickets).

Yes, doable.. other maybe than the directs from Manchester.

Good luck!

We always flew with TC from Manchester however Aer Lingus look quite competitive as well.

Yes we normally eat at the villa before heading to the parks. I’m the only driver so I’m quite happy with a few beers around the pool once we’re back at the villa.

Car parking is something we’ve possibly overlooked as $25 a day isn’t cheap at Universal.

Will definitely look at the free parking with DC as well as Seaworld & Aquatica.

Parks we’ll do are US, IOA, VB, DC, SW, Aquatica plus a day on Idrive and I also fancy Wild Florida as well.

Will have a look at alternative flights but need to be direct as wife isn’t a great fan of flying anyway 🙈

I agree that if from Manchester you might be looking a bit more for flights, from London I’d imagine your estimate would be fine.
