Cyprus testing requirements

Hi

Since we're definitely not able to go to Florida this year we're just about to book Cyprus.

Anyone out there that can help with the requirements?

We're a party of 4 (2 adults both fully vaccinated and 2 kids, 12 and 16) As far as I can tell we need:

Cyprus Travel Pass
Don't need to test before departure
Would need 4 x PCR tests 3 days or later before travelling back
Adults would need to test on day 2
Kids would need to test on day 2 and 8

I just don't want to make a mistake so any help appreciated

We are going to Cyprus at the end of August. I believe the children will need PCR tests before they leave the UK but I may be wrong - it’s very confusing

Hi
I've just been sent this by Jet2
jet2holidays/safe-tr...rements/cyprus

Looks like kids will need to test before travel, on arrival at the Cyprus airport and then self-quarantine at the hotel until results come back

Is this your understanding aswell?

Not sure about this now...

I’m looking at Cyprus too, after other plans have now gone belly up. The UK gov website says that for entering Cyprus, children under 12 are exempted from the testing requirement. So I guess that would mean that kids over 12, as in your family’s case would mean that they need the PCR before travelling to Cyprus and on arrival as you say 🙁

Yep
Got all confirmed now I think

So we are 2 fully vaccinated adults - we don't need tests to go there. Our kids 12 and 16 needs pre-departure tests and tests on arrival.
The kids are then meant to self quarantine at the hotel until we get the results.
Results take between 3 hours and a day (but for arrivals after 7pm the result should be next morning before 11)
Then all 4 of us need tests within 3 days of departure to come back.
Then all 4 of us need tests on day 2 after coming back.

Need to do passenger locater and the Cyprus Flight Pass

NHS app which shows vaccine status is sufficient proof and is accepted over there.

I think ... that's it!

I thought holidays were meant to be fun!

I reckon planning another lunar landing would probably be easier than planning a holiday now tbh 😂 but I’m still going to try and take the challenge! Good luck and have a fab time - it’ll be worth the faff!

The guidance for Cyprus is literally changing all the time. I’d put it on our go to list and was just about to book when it was showing that everyone had to test on arrival vaccinated or not. It’s now changed back again! Cyprus back on my list now.

So was getting excited about finally going on holiday and we've hit a brick wall.

So the kids will need to test on arrival (fine), then wait for results, 3 hours up to 1 day (sort of fine) but the hotel won't accept anyone without negative test result (or fully vaccinated) - so what are we supposed to do during this time?

I've emailed the airport, tour operators, the cyprus flight pass team, noone has provided an answer..

I've now emailed the Cyprus Tourist authority and am awaiting an answer.

Just can't believe this - surely they should all know? The tour operators, otherwise how can they sell the trips, the airport who organise the tests, the hotel who must have received other families before...

I think I'm finally losing it

So it's looking like we can isolate in the hotel room (or just the kids! ) until we get the result.

BUT the hotel we chose doesn't allow you to check in unless everyone has a negative test or are vaccinated!

Looks like we'd need to change hotel (not likely it's the best one for our family) or book the 1st night at a different hotel...

There are 4 other hotels next door to this one and 2 have responded to confirm they will let you quarantine in the room.

So looks like 1st morning we'll be lugging cases from one hotel to another.

This is sounding like lots of fun
