Best time Weatherwise to visit Argyll and Bute

We have already purchased a hotel package but just need to book our dates. For anyone in the know, what might be the best month/s to visit regarding weather? We are not “into” walking, just general sightseeing and lazy days are good for us.

My dad lives in the Argyll area and always says May is the best time to visit. We went at Easter one year and it rained solidly for the whole week

Probably May or September - you could be lucky and have glorious weather or not. The good thing about Scotland in early summer is the long light nights which means it doesn’t get dark until around 11pm.

I would agree with what others have said. I live close by, and worked very close , and May is always a good bet. But the weather can be a right mixture.
Personally I would avoid July as it can be a very wet month.
If you haven’t been up that way before you are in for right treat.
