Virgin flying club question

We fly to Orlando in September and have Virgin Classic seats booked. We are in the flying club and have 8000 points each but virgin said we need 1100 points each to upgrade to premium. Does anyone know if we will just have to pay the full upgrade cost to premium or if we use the 8000 points as part payment?

Thank you - virgin didn’t mention that so I just thought you couldn’t.

You can add on the points yourself online or they can add them on for you.
