just the two of us pre travel day august 2018

Hello!
welcome to our pre travel day trip report.
for the first time..."Just the two of us!"
Me Gemma 39, Love orlando, there is no other place to vacation,
Lee 42, anything to keep me happy...or quiet

so, flying from Manchester to Sanford with TUI. 10 nights, 7 nights orlando 4 nights Miami. flew premium club and hired a mustang.

So having gone in 2017 with the boys, we decided to go again but just the 2 of us. if we go back, (me seriously suffering with the florida blues) its on grounds we do something different. so, hubby wanted to include Miami.

pre travel day
with plans to leave at Mid day for our long drive from plymouth to manchester, i had a quick cuppa

and then left at 9am to go and pick my mum up as she was house and doggy sitting whilst we was away. of course the boys wasnt happy about grandma being around, unfortunutely they cant be trusted to look after archie, our 6 year old chihuahua. he suffers with seperation anxiety bless him and they tend to ignor him. my mum, who calls him her fur grandson took the time off work to be with him. mother is a godsend. i wouldnt be able to relax if she didnt.

Mother all settled in, i took her to do the weekly shop and then do an online order for the following week. whislt there i filled the car up with fuel and grabbed some travel sweets and drinks. Lee had gone to grab himself his tradition of travel day morning haircut and into animal to get himself a new pair of flip flops.

when he came back he cleaned the car quickly whilst i put the shopping away, checked the cases and travel documents and stacked them by the door. ( hint hint)

with the good byes all done i left with a tear in my eye as archie had held us hostage by standing infront of the door wanting to come with us, (if i could take him i would)

leaving plymouth was chaotic from the start, trafic as soon as we hit the A38. 45 minutes later we was no longer stop, starting and truely on our way.

we stopped off at the services on route to have our tradtional macdonalds. then straight to APH Parking. pretty straight roads there and before we know it we was being dropped off at terminal 2, just as we was getting off, the driver overheard lee ask me where raddisson was and he offered to drop us pretty much to the door! thank you Mr driver.

we had asked for a run way view and it did not dissapoint. we was both pretty hungry come 7pm so i went off to search for food. but came across zero. so back to the room i went and we ordered from the ever so costly room service menu. the up side was i pulled up a chair and sat in the window and ate it lol

at around 10pm we both had showers and called it a night.

Good start - apart from leaving Archie - thx for posting. We all need something to keep us going... 😀

Yay a new trip report !
Archie is so cute , we have a Jack Russell who suffers with separation anxiety so I feel your pain.
The Raddisson is our overnight choice if we fly from Manchester, the food in the bar in the reception area is lovely , although in December we brought a picnic as I didn’t want to miss Strictly
