El Mercado de Coronado gratuity?

I seem to remember when it was Pepper market tipping was expected - there were signs at the tills. It was as you said because the drinks were served.

We are here now and El Mercado is a normal resort food court where you line up to order and collect your food. No one comes anywhere near your table. They’ve clearly got their wires crossed.

The Pepper Market used to bring the meals to your table but that is quite a few years ago now. It is just a normal quick service place now.

Something similar to this happened to us in SSR this year. The Paddocks grill were taking orders then walking the order out to you instead of you collecting it (I’d rather collect it). It was really awkward as when you scanned the band they printed the receipt and then asked you to complete it. Felt guilted into leaving tip. The other QS restaurant didn’t do this. I’ve got to say it really put me off.
