Holidaying in Australia

Hi all,

We’re very excited that we have booked a trip to Australia next December for DH’s special birthday.

I’ve been trying to find an equivalent of the Dibb for Australia and also some decent vlogs on you tube but at the moment can’t find either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

We are flying to Syndey and spending 2 nights there before a 10 night cruise taking in Brisbane and Cairns to name a couple of ports. We then dock back into Sydney and depending on the cost once the flights are released we want to add 3-8 nights on the back of our trip.

If anyone has any tips or advice they would be greatly appreciated.

We went a few years back just to Sydney and had a ball there a very good tram system there to get about all so the mono rail . We visited the blue mountains and the Koala Sanctuary all so targain zoo. We did so much. We caught train from Airport to the bank train station all so darling haubor and a few other places.

I am very jealous, I loved our trip to Australia and plan to go again, I really want to do the non stop London - Perth flight.

A similar trip is in planning in our house for my retiral !

We are off to Australia for just two weeks boxing day (can only take two weeks due to DH's business) and am only going as DD is in Adelaide for two years. Whilst we are there she has booked flights and accommodation (overlooking Darling Harbour) in Sydney. She is sorting itinerary for us whilst in Adelaide but may include a day trip to Kangaroo Island, wine tours and I'm sure there's a good coast road which heads towards Melbourne. Missing her so much so looking forward to spending some time with her. Not looking forward to the flights at all. Will need to take aspirin and wear flight socks for 24 hours!

We are going in February for a month, Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand, we cant wait!

Been twice. We loved it so much the first time so went back again. Ferry to Manly beach from Sydney Circular Quay is good and the beach is better than Bondi. Look for Happy Hour in the restaurants and bars around Darling Harbour for food and drink bargains. There is a lovely small spot between Cairns and Port Douglas called Palm Cove. Lots to do and see all over, have a great time

I will keep an eye on this. I’m thinking about Oz next November. I’d get max 13 days off work, and it seems a long way to go for 2 weeks, but I don’t want to wait until I retire.
