General Rental Question - March 2020

We will be flying into Atlanta mid March 2020, for 16 night rental, heading home start of April.

Started looking at car hire prices today, looked at BA Avis - who I probably want to avoid as had to cancel last year and it cost me 20% (first time we ever cancelled).
Anyway - prices on Alamo Brits were much lower than BA Avis or Costco.

Just wondering if in general prices are high at the moment, Ford Edge £664, Expedition £739 with Alamo Brits. Costco with Enterprise was £798/£889 and BA Avis £869/£992.

There are only the two of us, but do like SUV. Cadillac XTS was £772 - have never had anything as large as Ford Expedition. How do others find it.

I also have noted in the forums Andy at DFCH seems to be highly recommended and if prices drop he cancels and rebooks for you?

Grateful for any advice. Currently just planning to regularly check prices.

OK Andy - thanks - holding off just now - think prices seem high, but main reason cannot decide if I want the Expedition size SUV - very undecided.

Book both to secure the price, then you know they won't rise. Amend if they drop, cancel when you decide which one you want.

Andy: do you have to pay full amount when booking and then if we cancel or the prices reduce does the order get cancelled with me having to put new order in place or do you just refund the saving only. I’m also looking for a rental but next sept for a friend who is following me in a suv from San Fran to Vegas while myself and others ride Harley’s.

He doesn't charge any deposit or card costs. I have booked next year with him and he has been really good with my booking.

Nothing to pay until 8 weeks prior to collection.

If the price drops, I can amend and refund the difference or if you rebook, I can just transfer the funds across to the new booking.
