You are very brave to venture San Diego on your own. It is by far our most favourite city in the World, being a huge Top Gun Fan myself, i dragged my family around the whole of the city at the sites. we went to the beach house, vipers house, Mavericks plane is on the Midway! The whole city has so much to offer we spent a whole week here last time, sadly will not got this far south next time. Another great read thanks for sharing

Ah thank you, I was a bit worried to begin with but I'm so pleased I went as I I'll join you in saying it's my favourite city I've ever visited.
Oh wow I didn't realise you could see all those locations, now I'll definitely have to go back! I could easily spend a whole week just there, it's something we'll definitely do in the future

San Diego looks a fascinating place, you were so brave to go on your own. So glad you enjoyed your day, it seems like you could take it at a nice relaxing pace and you still did loads. Nice little trip to the outlets too, some good purchases made.

I love Top Gun too, it must have been thrilling to eat there, and to get behind the bar. Added bonus that the food was good!

Thank you, I'm so glad I went ahead even if I was feeling slightly nervous on the journey there. San Diego is an amazing city, I would recommend it to anyone!
These outlets were great and best of all not rammed like the Orlando ones.
As soon as we knew we were definitely going to California, we planned to go to Kansas City BBQ as we're such big fans of the film. A great bucket list moment

I love San Diego & have been there several times. The stuff you did in a day we would have taken a week to do!

I went to Tijuana in the late 90’s & didn’t feel that safe. We hid out in a Hard Rock Cafe until it was time to go back on the bus.

It really was a whistle stop tour of the city but has now become one of my favourite places I've visited so I'll most definitely return one day to spend at least a week there. I can see why so many people have fallen in love with it!
Oh really, I wonder if it's got worse or better since then? We couldn't believe the amount of Mexican licence plates in the outlets, it's obviously a very popular place for them to hop over and shop

What a wonderful day and a fantastic end to the day too, I’m a big Top Gun fan I would have loved to eat there-all your photos look great.
San Diego sounds fab, the train journey and your tour around on your own seems to have been great, I would love to visit there.

You made the most of every minute in San Diego and your pics are fab! It must have been nice to be able to do you own thing even just for a couple of hours. Kansas City BBQ loos delicious and how awesome you had your picture taken behind the bar, holidays are all about making great memories

Today was one of my favourite days. San Diego is now my favourite US city, I'm so pleased I went ahead with visiting on my own as I had serious doubts. Going to the Top Gun bar was such an epic experience and great food too.

I really tried to cram as much as I could into this day knowing I would only have the one day here.
It really was lovely having a bit of me time, not needing to answer to anyone . I know the kids would have had a little moan, in fact Jim probably would have done too so being able to do exactly what I wanted to do was liberating
It was a perfect end to an already awesome day that I'll never forget!
