I don’t check my 32 and 30 year old anymore 😀 My 19 year old is at uni now and I did always just say goodnight before bed before she went to uni, if that’s classed as checking her. Even now, while she’s in uni, we tend to send a goodnight message and good morning message each day when we get up. It’s often a silly gif or just a few words to say hi.

Dh is exactly the same. He can’t sleep if the boys were out in town until they got home, yet when ds was in uni he never worried about him. They are now 21 and 25. I still go in before I go to bed to say goodnight to ds21 (ds25 now left home) as usually he is still up watching tv in his room.

My two are 14 and 10 and I still ‘put’ the youngest to bed. Bedtime story, hug night etc. Once they go to bed though, I’m usually heading there myself as I’m up early in the morning so don’t check in on them after they are asleep. Unless they’re ill of course. Then I will pop in to double check on them.

i stopped checking my eldest about a year ago, she is 11 and in her first year of high school now, she closes her bedroom door so I don't want to go in and disturb her. Would probably check in on her if she was ill, but feel she needs some privacy now she is getting older. Her phone is always left plugged in on charge downstairs at night so I'd know if she tried taking it up with her.
Still check on youngest he is 6.

We don’t close our bedroom doors generally, and from the time my DD was about 15 she was awake later than me at night. I don’t remember “checking “ on her when she was younger, after she’d gone to sleep.
I never understood my mum staying awake until I got in when I was a young adult and still living at home - but I find myself struggling to get to sleep properly until DD is home after a night out. She’s away at uni and I don’t struggle to sleep when she’s there, weird .

Still check in my 2- nearly 17 and 13. If I don't go in and check and they are awake they both go mad haha

I always pop my head in when I go up to bed, although sometimes I fall asleep before they do and wake up at 4am and think oh god I didn't check the kids... but then fall back to sleep before I get the chance to check, they're nearly 12 and nearly 14. Oops!
