Is Universal worth it if you've never see or read Harry Potter?

2 adults, 2 boys aged 11 and 9. Did all the Disney parks 3 years ago and we all loved it.

Returning in late March this year for 2 and a bit weeks.

Looking at a 14 day Universal,IOA, Volcano Bay pass, but are the Universal parks a waste since none of us have read the Harry Potter books or watched the films - none of us have any interest in Harry Potter whatsoever.

So is HP a big part of the parks if we don't do it, or will we still enjoy HP if we do it?

Thanks!

I have seen a couple of the films and didn't really like them - I know Sorry
But the rides etc are excellent at Universal and I definitely think it's worth a visit

The Universal Parks are amazing! Harry Potter is only a small part of them but still well worth a visit to these areas... you may find once you have been your children will want to read the Harry Potter books or watch the films

we're not massive hp fans, seen a couple of films hats it. We did enjoy the rides, thought the theming was amazing but found the areas too busy for our liking. We all commented how amazing it must be if youre a hp fan. We still loved universal, loads of stuff apart from hp, hardly spent any time in that part of the parks. We did really enjoy the Hogwarts express though, very clever.

I don't like Universal but it's nothing to do with my lack of interest in HP. Most of the rides are simulators which I don't enjoy. And outside of the HP areas, it lacks the theming of the Disney parks which is what I like most.

I agree with Loldis. Lots of simulator rides. Still worth a visit just to try. We went to Orlando 2 years ago. We are returning to Orlando this year but will be giving Universal a miss.

W knew nothing about the books/films but still enjoyed the rides & theming...you don't have to go to the HP bits but I think you'd miss out on a good experience if you didn't.

Yes! We last went in 2015 when our boys were 16 and 14. None of us are big HP fans (the boys have seen bits of the films) but we still loved it and the parks are not all HP anyway.

I love HP so loved the areas in both parks. As you don’t like HP, I would maybe do two days in universal (one in each park) or three if you want Volcano bay too, but not sure there would be enough in the parks you would be interested in that would make the 14 day ticket worth it.

I’d watch the first film and go because it’s so worth it.

But yes I’d still go if i didn’t like HP.
