It would be good to see Disney fit another major attraction into Epcot. Soarin is already looking tired ( especially compared to FOP) and Mission Space is no longer that popular.

I’m looking forward to riding the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride though

Ugh.

I love Mary Poppins, don't get me wrong. But what makes Epcot my favourite park is that it's not a typical 'Disney' park. Obviously it has the character meets and Frozen Ever After but everything else is just so different.

The World Showcase is about celebrating different cultures and countries, but now it seems as though Chapek is intent on turning the pavilions into IP attractions - Mexico looks to be getting Coco, UK is getting Mary Poppins, France is getting Ratatouille and a Beauty and the Beast show. Norway already has Frozen.

I understand that the parks need to change with the times, and Epcot is all about celebrating innovation, creativity and change but I wish they could achieve this without having to Disney-fy every bloomin' attraction.

What's next?! Expedition Everest with a Frozen overlay in which you escape from the giant snowman? Test Track becoming Radiator Springs Racers? Kali River Rapids becoming a Moana attraction?

I love Disney but I wish that Chapek would see what a wonderful park Epcot already is without a load of IP's coming.

I agree with you, and yet customer research suggests that when people go to a Disney park they expect to see... Disney, and when people see Disney IP they spend, which makes shareholders happy. I guess we only have ourselves to blame!

Completely agree!

I just hope that they remember what Epcot is all about during these refurbishments!

They've said for a while that Epcot would become "more Disney". I take that to mean they will be including more Disney IP theming in the park. It's what people want.

People seem to like the idea of the new Moana water attraction, they like the inclusion of the Ratatouille ride, most comments seem to be positive regarding Mary Poppins coming to the UK pavilion, etc.

The park can still celebrate innovation, creativity and change whilst also Disneyfying it. And let's face it, Epcot abandoned its original concept many years ago (you could say it abandoned it before it was even built).

Personally, I don't have a problem with it being Disneyfied. One of the reasons I spend lots of money to visit the Disney parks rather than other theme parks around the world is because of my love of Disney's IP, after all.

This may be controversial but am I the only person who doesn’t like Epcot? Mayb I’m the type of guest they are trying to win over as I think introducing more Disney, more rides (hopefully), more theming and bringing it more into line with the other parks may actually make me want to spend more than a morning there. I currently only go to make use of my ticket and ride the few dated rides there before heading to HS. Maybe I’m weird tho as love HS (even in 2017 with all the closures) and can spend days there but avoid Epcot lol

I started a thread a couple of years ago asking whether Epcot had, had its day as I'm with you it was very tired and needed a change up to get people excited about it again!

I don't mind the addition of more Disney as I think its what it needs to get people back in and enjoying the park again! It still seems to be subtle and sympathetic to what Epcot is all about!
