They have just said it's up to me. They haven't given any option yet but the hotel haven't actually told BA they won't be open on the 9th October.

Any idea if much will be open. I have just read that Naples Zoo is closed indefinitely and Tin City lost the dock so they are also closed.

We were due to stay in Naples from last Sunday, but decided to change to another area. We were due to rent a villa from the owner who lives in Connecticut, and he was great. We scoured the internet for information and got info from the owner too who had contacts in the area, but when he offered a full refund we took it. A lot of the things we wanted to do were closed and remain so, and we also had concerns about power and gas availability.

My aunt lives there and she still doesn't have power.

We are going in Feb and planned an o/n in Marco Island for my birthday. Received an email today to say hotel wouldn't be re-opened by then. Feeling a bit gutted (and selfish for feeling like that), have rebooked another hotel at double the price but have the option to cancel.

Based on the dreadful damage Charley did in 2004, that we witnessed 4 month later, Irma's damage/aftermath is mirrored for The Keys/Naples/Marco and much of Collier County - Collier will be working 24/7 in an attempt to pull the County together for the huge January snowbird influx. Whilst personal choice and difficult to predict Collier recovery it may be wise to give Naples/The Keys a miss for a few month.

I'll ask our Lee County Deputy pal if he has any Collier contacts that could provide current updates.

i'm considering Siesta Key/Lido Beach as an alternative. Does anyone have any idea if the Sarasota area is all ok?

On Naples Zoo website ...

Naples Zoo will re-open Saturday, October 14th. As part of our Welcome Back Weekend, Collier County residents will get in free both Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th. All other Florida residents will be just $5 each. If you would like to help with our hurricane relief efforts, you can donate at napleszoo/give.

From what I have read on local media Sarasota and Siesta Key are fine, when the storm approached our area Rotonda West thankfully it moved to the right towards Orlando.

OP not sure if you’ve seen the latest update from the Grande.

They’ve cancelled all booking through 14th December.

Sounds like there are extensive works needed to get them open again.
