Mobile Virgin Credit card for Airmiles? - still worth it?

Hi,

We are looking to get a new credit card to replace ours as the perks are now poor!

I think I've read on here that the Virgin cards aren't as good as they were? I can see they have 2, one with a fee? Hubby doesn't think the fee one is worth it, but I thought I'd ask here for people's opinions? We pay off in full every month?

Any other good mileage cards to look at?
Many thanks.

Amex have an offer on currently for one which is usually a fee but free for first year. You can take that out, get one point per £1 spent which can then be changed into airmiles at 1 air mile per point I believe.

You can then cancel after a year and see if another offer is going somewhere else.

We currently have the VM card but will be getting the amex when I get round to signing up.

What it comes down to in the end is how quickly do you want to earn the airmiles. If it's fairly quick, then the fee cards are better, assuming you'll earn more than ~£150 of airmiles by using it.
