Really! I thought you could only pay the taxes by credit card. Can ask what your room rate was?

You can pay any amount ( up to £750) in Tesco/ hotels.com vouchers .
That’s what people have been trying to show by the way of examples

Just you can’t pay the taxes by vouchers

Most people don’t have the full value of a hotel room in vouchers, so say a room is £100 plus £10 taxes and they only have say £10 in Tesco vouchers , which they convert to £30 in hotels.com vouchers , it’s fine to use those then pay £80 on a credit / debit card

We are looking for a weeks stay in a hotel near universal. We will have around £145 worth of vouchers so I am assuming this can be converted to £435 to be used against an hotel.
I am obviously not going to get an hotel for that price for 7 nights so let’s say the hotel is £1000 can I use the vouchers and just pay £565? Plus the tax ?
Thanks
Yes you can. You can use £5 to give a £15 discount if you want to, unless it's changed in the last month.

And with regards to the OP, we booked a hotel.com part voucher part cash. Flight was cancelled so we booked an additional night at the same hotel (also part voucher as we'd got extra by then) and emailed the hotel to link the bookings to ensure that we didn't have to move rooms.

No you don’t. You pay as much as you’ve got Tesco vouchers for, then you can pay any extra amount (plus taxes) in cash/ card.

I made 3 separate bookings for RPR last year, one with air miles (covered the whole night) one with my own Clubcard points (about £120 worth, the balance paid by card) then a night with my mums Clubcard vouchers (£150 then paid the rest by card) we didn’t have to move room at all, just had to get a new keycard every morning for our express pass.

What/which air miles can be used for a hotel?
Thanks

We used British airways air miles to book a night at RPR. Booked via the British airways website.
