I'd really consider a cruise, you'll never be bored & there's excursions to suit everyone.

I’m happy to wait, so we can do it his way - he’s a pain to arrange a holiday for, but he doesn’t ask for much generally.
We were booked on economy with Emirates, Glasgow to Adelaide via Dubai, however a few days before our flight out we got an "invitation" to upgrade to business from Dubai to Adelaide for £700pp. We decided to go ahead as that leg was over 13hrs. It was amazing, and we also got a good few hours sleep too. I looked into upgrading on our return flight - just the long leg again but we didn't get an email. I phoned and was told the price would be over £5000 each! We ended up flying economy, which I was dreading but DD gave us some melatonin which we both took after our main meal on the flight and I ended up sleeping for nearly 8 hrs! Neither the two of us was bothered with jet lag.

It's not easy when your other half prefers a different sort of holiday from yourself. Me, I love Florida, the parks, the villas, and love the west coast of Florida and touring, DH he loves skiing, which I hate. He tends to go skiing with friends every two years and we compromise with a holiday in Florida every two years, however that seems to be getting even more stretched. Think it may be 3 or possibly even 4 years until we go back there. I do think I'm very lucky to have been as many times as we have. We went in the summer and then to Australia though we would not have gone if DD had not been over there working. Fingers crossed she sticks to her plan and comes back to the UK to work for the NHS because I miss her dreadfully.

I’ve spent a disproportionate amount of time in the last week looking at holidays. I had pretty much decided to so Vancouver/Vancouver Island/Whistler with a few days in Halifax/PEI when work threw me a curveball in the form of a substantial pay rise (yay)

Between cheaper business class flights out of Stockholm and the pay rise, Australia is back on the table. We were looking at September, as work are not keen about me leaving all my holidays until November (when we were gonna go to Oz) and December (I’ve booked Christmas off), strictly from a welfare point of view. Also, we’d want to spend a week in Victoria and my friend there said the weather isn’t great in September.

So we’re now having to ponder whether to do something else this year, and look at Australia in February/March, or whether to pack our waterproofs and clothes for layering, and take whatever weather September brings.

I like Italy, particularly Rome and the Bay of Naples.

I like Cyprus, having lived there for 2 years.

I like anywhere in the USA, as I work towards seeing all of the 50 States minus Alaska. (20 so far)

When the boys are no longer included, then Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia will beckon.

Last year we did a mini European road trip, discovered parts of Belgium, Holland, Germany. Fell in love with Amsterdam!

We also did a week in France including 3 days at Disneyland Paris.

Plus a weekend in Antwerp at Xmas time.

This year we are off to California and Turkey.

Back to Florida next year ❤️
