I survived the redundancy cull
I wasn’t made redundant a couple of weeks ago however after a horrific car accident on Tuesday night on my way home it has made me rethink things.
I wasn’t selected for redundancy but they had underpaid me after deducting too many days of sickness . This took 3 weeks to resolve and only after I raised a formal grievance. After a couple of days at home rethinking things I have decided to resign and take my skills elsewhere.

Yes being hit by a HGV does make you rethink.
I’m bruised and shaken and have probably written my car off but I’m still here 🙏

Was someone else in your group made redundant? Perhaps your decision will mean that they won’t lose their job now, so it’s a plus both ways. Well done for having the courage to resign, it’s not an easy thing to do.

Best wishes for whatever you choose to do career wise. It is good to be able to have that choice.
The suggestion above may be reasonable. If someone has been selected and doesn't want to go then might be worth thinking about. Both of you take the paths you want but also potentially more financially advantageous to both parties than you just resigning? Irrespective. It's all secondary to the accident. Sorry this happened to you; it can be a real jolt to the system. Bruising sounds painful but glad you are fundamentally ok. Edited at 01:33 AM. |

One person volunteered and she left now there are only 2 of us left. I’ve lost all faith in them.
