We where in akl during irma and always felt safe.internal corridors meant we could get around and use the facilities so never felt stuck in our room.staff where excellent they even set all the machines in the arcade to free play to keep the kids happy.

We’re also in AKL, talking to staff yesterday and they say that this is the safest hotel to be in due to the building design and internal corridors.

Stay where you are the hotels with external corridors are not good in hurricanes 2017 Irma many guests in them were saying how there door was shaking/rattling and wind blowing in.
A building with external corridors is much safer and will give you the benefit of coming out of your room should you feel the need to and talk to other people.

I can not believe Disney are not offering guest already there some discount knowing you are stuck there.

It is not a good price when you are at the end of your holiday and should be flying home.
Some people do not have the extra money to cover these things, even having a back up credit card still mean you have to pay it when you get home if your insurance does not cover the cost.

2 extra nights $600 and I suppose that is plus taxes.

We are at carribean beach, Aer Lingus can’t get us home until next Monday so an extra weeks accommodation needed. CBR want $200 per night so an extra $1400 room only. No way we can afford that. We are looking at cheap idrive accommodation or air bnb

Hi

You might want to check with your travel insurance company I believe ours covers accommodation at the same level we were already booked into if flight delayed so they might pick up the cost for you.

I’ve checked our insurance. We aren’t covered unfortunately. Found a cheapy on idrive that looks okay. Fingers crossed 🤞

Sorry to hear that.

Hope all goes smoothly- looks like it is now going to be a lot less likely for a direct/near hit so it shouldn’t be as bad as previously thought- stay safe

Hurricane Dorian is no longer predicted to make landfall in Florida, but is instead, heading further north to Georgia and the Carolinas.
