Just phoned Thomas cook as should have been on today’s flight that’s delayed until Friday been told that will still return on 18th so only 12 days not 14 said there’s nothing they can do and would have to claim off travel insurance for days lost

Considering the airport will be open why not chance an EU claim.. Other airlines are flying so they cannot use that excuse.

The first BA flight today has just about finished boarding and will be departing in the next 30 or so minutes.

Checked in for VS73 ex Manchester with a delayed departure of 4pm as stated previously.

Have been advised that we should get an update anytime now (was scheduled for 1pm) re confirming if it was definitely going.

From our point of view Virgin Atlantic communication has been spot on, emails, text etc.

We have also called Disney to advise of late arrival & advise Magical Express if same (not sure if required but she did comment is was worthwhile as they’d had a lot of no shows).

Anyone know the reason for the further delay to today’s second BA flight?

Didn’t really want to check out til I knew it was on its way.

It's more than likely due to landing availability at MCO. Yes it is reopening at noon, but all services can't restart simultaneously as aircraft are out of position and the airport has to phase flights in over a period. All the carriers will have been given a number of specific arrival slots and they have to work flights around them. This is why Virgin have had to consolidate their 2 flights from Gatwick today into one. (They also have 2 empty aircraft currently in Atlanta awaiting slots in order to come to MCO to pick up passengers delayed from yesterday. In other words it is probably down to MCO as they get things under way again
