Mobile Anyone managed to claim back on their travel insurance?

Just waiting to see if our annual travel insurance covers us during the Hurricane last week.
3 days extra hotel
3 days extra airport parking at Manchester.
3 days extra car hire from Hertz
3 days of extra meals (which wasn't much as most places were closed).

So far its classed as a natural disaster so can’t claim anything back on the insurance. So I’m waiting to hear if we can just claim for a delayed return flight instead.
Anyone been made a claim successfully? Either being stuck there like we were, or not being able to fly in from the UK?

I thought we had good travel insurance but obviously not 🤔

We could claim £100pp for our 24 hour delay at Gatwick on the 3rd. Wouldn’t cover the hotel or Uber from LGW to LHR but the £300 total and the fact Adventura refunded us for the first night helped out and made sure we weren’t out of pocket

Think it depends on your policy, I checked mine before I went and it covers hurricanes but I didn't need it as virgin should pick up the extras for the 24 delay.

We can’t claim anything. We had to pay for a week of extra accommodation, food, uber/lyft. Also lost a weeks pay each. Insurance doesn’t cover it. Now have to cancel next years trip as now have to cover all our costs.

That’s a thought I wonder whether I could claim the Uber back

When we were stuck for hurricane Irma the airline paid out for all of it.

I'm putting in for the uber from Tampa to Orlando as that is where they should have taken me.

We’ve had our claim approved and fast tracked today.
Claimed for 1 nights extra stay
1 days extra car hire
Return train tickets from uk airport to home.
Really pleased took about 50 mins on the phone and they took bank details and are paying it straight in so I can pay off credit card next week... no excess either.
They only asked if I would make sure to keep any receipts or paperwork that I had for 30 days just in case they want to see them but other than that it seems to be plain sailing
