You Tube
hi
anyone else addicted to watching the disney you tubers, ie DFB, Trackers, Disney in Detail, Super Enthused, Brogan, Jade, etc? also anyone else wondering how these people who a lot of them seem to have given up their jobs to do this full time, plan on doing this for the rest of their life. I'd hope for their sake that You Tube, or whatever replaces it stays financially secure for the next 30+ years!

The Trackers were doing it for 9yrs before Tim gave up his job. Jenn gave hers up earlier but she tended to do seasonal retail from what I recall of the earlier vlogs. They’re now over ten years in and it’s provided, and continues to do so, the lifestyle they need.
The younger ones with a quicker fan base and tons and tons of gifted/ads I’m not so sure about their longevity but there does seem to be a solid bloke at their side so maybe it’s worth the risks for the rewards if they’ve always got a salary pending every month from their partner. I do wonder how sustainable these vloggers are though. I don’t mind watching daily life vlogs but they can get samey for sure. Then when they’re not samey it’s a gifted/ad which I understand the why but I don’t always love the frantic attempt at telling you their thoughts are their own while constantly gushing about the thing they’re paid to gush about. I think here I’m mainly talking about Brogan Tate and Jade Billington. One vlogger we adore is ThemeParkWorldwide. Different style to the others. Next to nothing about his personal/home life (other than it’s his girlfriend who helps him run the channel). He vlogs from theme parks and tourist attractions. He is obsessed with them (in a good way) and loves it. He used to work at Alton Towers and knows tons of people in the industry. He knows his stuff both front of house and behind the scenes. He gave up his job about a year ago but he’s young, lives at home and has a solid fan base from years of doing it as a hobby. Job security is something most of us have to be concerned these days so in that respect fair play to them for taking on something they enjoy and making it pay. Edited at 03:47 PM. |

The thing is though no job is ever stable really, most of us are at risk at being made redundant. Plus they make quite a lot of money and I suppose they could put some away in savings for just in case situations.
I do see what you mean though, it is one of those things that I don’t see lasting forever, but while it does I guess they make the most. The trackers look so happy now they both do this full time, plus with a baby on the way it suits them so I’m hopping it may continue for a long time! |

ThemeparkWorldwide is fab - it has a bit of an 80s production feel to it haha, but I like that and he is so knowledgeable.

We watch quite a few of them, and maybe I'm old fashioned but I don't like the vloggers who ask or hint for money or buy their merchandise. In fairness to Tim Tracker her never hints at it or overly pushes his merchandise wheras the lodge guys do.

I guess brogan does a lot of marketing and content creation for brands and jade has gone part time so could potentially go back to being full time. It’s the bigger younger ones who get me- that have never really had to work as have grown straight from uni etc. But, as the internet grows so does the need for marketing so I imagine they will slot in there somehow. Unless it continues to grow!
