Amatista cookhouse - sapphire falls
Yet again we were full of good intentions to get up early and we failed miserably. We had a late check out till 12 at Aventura so we thought we’d have a relaxed last day breakfast at Amatista. It was fairly busy but we were seated within 5 minutes and decided to order from the a la carte menu again. Within 10 minutes of ordering we were informed that the kitchen was backed up. If we’d known this we’d probably just have gone for the buffet. After 20 minutes our server told us to go and get some pastries and fruit from the buffet, we got a small plate as I didn’t want to spoil my appetite for what we’d ordered. It took over 40 minutes for the food. Ds and Dh had the jerk chicken with waffles. They loved it again. I had the Caribbean French toast which was lovely. Our server was nice and it wasn’t really his fault but the wait meant we ended up click watching and eating faster than we’d have liked. We also forgot the annual pass for the discount. I really enjoyed our visits to sapphire falls for food but twice in a row encountered the kitchen struggling, it’s definitely busier at the weekend so if you are going make it a mid week visit. That’s what we will be doing next time. Edited at 08:50 PM. |

Really enjoyed reading this in a wet and stormy afternoon! The Palm looked lovely! We enjoy Lombards but never tried Mythos. Food has always been really enjoyable in Lombard’s.

Hot Butter beer
We had 3. Wow this is lovely. It’s like drinking sticky toffee pudding with cream. I wish they did this year round. We got some in the Pub next to Three Broomsticks and at the long stand in Diagonal Alley. Not everywhere sold it.

Urban Pantry
We thought it might be a good idea to have food before the journey home do we had a late lunch/early dinner at Aventura. After a good look round we all settled on the wok and sushi station. Ds had the spicy tuna roll which he thought was really good. Dh and I had wok bowls with veg, teriyaki sauce, sushi rice, I had shrimp and he had chicken. Both were great. It worked out about $45 I also had a mango dragon fruit refresher from Starbucks

Can't believe your trip is coming to an end 🙁.
The food at Urban Pantry looks good, but hot butter beer sounds delicious! |

Airport snacks
Auntie Anne’a mini pretzel dogs Pastries and cinnamon twists from Starbucks. No pictures as it took me 35 to get these and then I had to rush to the gate. Airplane food We didn’t have any as we slept most of the way back. Dh had a beef thing with rice and veg. He said it was surprisingly ok and a cheesecake for pudding. The did you take a photo question was met with a blank look so no photo. Burger King - Dublin Airport There was not much choice of places to go that I could see and I hadn’t booked a lounge for the way back. 3 bacon double cheeseburgers with fries and a portion of chilli cheese bites - it filled a hole as they say.
