Resort fees?
Hello,
Does anyone know how I would find out if I need to pay resort fees for my hotel? I paid direct through the hotel (La Quinta inn and suites by wyndham NE Long Beach/Cypress), I paid approximately $135 in addition to the price of my stay for 12 night which was labelled as fees and taxes. It doesnt say what these taxes are and now I'm worried I may have to pay more when I get there in a resort tax. I can only find their phone number and im in the UK so I dont want to ring California to ask. I was sure I would've paid any potential resort fee but when I went to book a different hotel in Anaheim with hotels.com they are charging me taxes and fees and a resort fee on top. So now I'm thinking do I need to pay a resort fee for the above hotel too ? Anyone stayed here or can shed some light on how I can find out if there is a resort fee? Only I do have cancellation for a bit and I would rather cancel and find a different hotel rather than get there and find out on top of what I've paid I have another tax to pay. Hope that makes sense. Edited at 10:52 PM. |

I’ve just had a quick look and I can’t see that they charge a resort fee. When I did a dummy booking it said taxes and fees included, and I couldn’t see any mention of resort fee. They would normally mention it on the booking page.
Not every hotel charges a resort fee. But please don’t take my word for it. |

Interestingly, I am in CA at the moment and saw a TV news article that a bill is being taken through Senate to declare resort fees illegal. Might take a while to become law, and of course will become part of the room rate, but at least you will know what you are being charged at time of booking

Thank you so much for your replies. I agree I would rather pay more a night than get there and have another bill on top! I found their trip advisor page and asked and so far people have said the only fee was for a pet or christmas eve/day, so hopefully we should be ok
