Mobile Tesco clubcard points and hotel.com

Hi there,
So I thought I might be able to book a 2 night stay at for using points. However room we want comes to more than hotels.com will allow. My question is has anyone booked the 2 night stay separately allowing for 2 uses of clubcard vouchers.

Blimey - how much is the hotel you are looking at ?
The maximum use is £250 of vouchers , which convert into £750 of ' credit' .
Sounds a lot for 2 nights

Why not book club room and just pay the excess over £750 by card ?

Remember you can’t pay the taxes with club card vouchers. Does the total BEFORE taxes come to more than £750 for one room for two nights? If it doesn’t then you’re fine. If it does and it’s only a bit more you could consider just paying that with a credit card?
If it’s a LOT more than £750 then you could make two separate bookings. I guess you’d then contact the hotel with your booking reservations to ask them to link the bookings so you wouldn’t need to change rooms. If it were me, I’d probably contact the hotel first to make sure this was possible.

You can't when using clubcard vouchers. As the Max is £750.

I think you may be getting confused. You can contribute the vouchers towards the room booking.

So, £250 in Tesco vouchers triples to £750 value to book a hotel - excluding taxes.

I'm not sure how much 2 nights in Club amount to but say, for example it is £850 - you would pay the taxes on top plus any extra.

I hope that makes sense

Yes you can
Let's say the room is £800 plus £80 taxes
You go to try to make your booking, at the payment stage you put your code in from the clubcard / hotels.com vouchers
This will knock the £750 ( assuming you convert £250 of Tesco points ) off the bill, leaving you to pay £130 on your card to complete tha booking

Let's assume in a different example to show the impact of taxes , that the hotel was actually £720 plus £72 , so £792 total
In that case , you would only convert £240 of Tesco points into the £720 of hotels vouchers ( to cover the hotel only charge , then pay £72 in taxes

( in that example if you converted £750 worth, you would lose £30 as you cannot pay for taxes using clubcard vouchers )

My total comes to £890.00 excl taxes and charges. Therefore I cannot exchange enough as the limit on Tesco clubcard says £250 can be converted into £750. I am then still £140.00 short of the necessary amount.
Thank you for all your advice. I did wonder if I could do two separate bookings.
