Expedition or Pathfinder

I have booked a full size SUV with Alamo Max via Autoeurope. Really hoping for a Ford Expedition as we are 6 Adults. Autoeurope have a 7 seater Nissan Pathfinder for about £40 cheaper today. Should I change the booking? Will it actually be a pathfinder or the choice of any full size SUV?

Mmm, are you certain the Pathfinder is showing as a 7 seater? All of my bookings with Auto Europe for this year are showing the Pathfinder as a Standard SUV (not Full Size) and as a 5 seater.

I had one last year and yes it was 7 seats but it sits in the Standard category.

Yep looks like that's a Standard aa Jeep Cherokee is a standard as a 5 person only.
The Pathfinder is a Nissan 7 seater SUV but is a Standard as way smaller than the Nissan Armarda which is their Full size offering as well as smaller less powerful engine.

Sorry poor photographic skills - it’s the pathfinder on the photo not the jeep.

I realised but they are showing like vehicles eg Standard SUVs the Pathfinder is Nissans 7 seat Standard SUV just as a Ford Explorer is Fords Standsrd size SUV.
Nissans Full size SUV is the Armarda and Fords Full size is the Expedition.
The list shows the Pathfinder and the Cherokee as they are Standard SUVs.
There are a good number of 7 seat Standard SUVs such as Santa Fe Explorer Pathfinder Sorrento Traverse
So what thrifty is offering is a 7 seat Standard size SUV so one of listed above.
The Full size you have is the next group up.
Don't confuse seating with groups, as a compact car seats 5 as does a full size car , its other bits bobs and size particular the engine that will define the group.
Enjoy whatever you pick.

OP. Sorry I didn't know you were looking at Thrifty on Auto Europe.
You will note Alamo have the same vehicle but show it as a 5 seater. Thrifty etc show it as a 7 seater.

I had one in November and if you put 7 in there it will be tight!

To the point. It's a Standard SUV with most rental companies. Hope that helps.

I thought that perhaps that the description of 7 Pax meant it was a bigger model that the standard pathfinder. I will stick to the Expedition. When I arrive and there is not an Expedition available I assume the ranking would be,

Tahoe - 1st
Armada - 2nd

You are probably right with your choice if no expedition available.
But always look.
Remember a cheeky ask to garage staff sometimes gets what you want ( Expedition Max) and show thanks with a nice slip of 10 or 20 bucks not that I condone bribery.
The 7 seat standard to full size 7 seater is a tad confusing to add the Chevy Traverse in theory a downgrade on the Tahoe has actually more space in it.
But as not stuck on the pick up chassis sits lower to ground

Don’t forget the Yukon. I’d def have it in front of the Armada. Also got to consider the specs of the vehicles which can differ greatly.
